On Nov. 25, NSBA's Small Business Technology Council (SBTC) hosted a live webinar on LinkedIn Exploring the Future of Small Business Innovation.

During this session, participants heard from SBTC’s Executive Director about the critical role SBTC membership plays for small businesses engaged in research, technology, and innovation. The discussion focused especially on the urgent need for stable, long-term federal support of small-business R&D, including reauthorization of the SBIR and STTR programs, which are seen as essential to America’s innovation ecosystem.

Key topics covered included:

  • SBTC and NSBA’s advocacy efforts to secure strong, stable, long-term funding for SBIR/STTR.

  • The current Congressional landscape regarding SBIR/STTR reauthorization.

  • How small businesses can engage by contacting their members of Congress to support reinstating these R&D funding initiatives.
