NSBA members are at the core of our small-business mission, and Issue Committees are just one way we organize our advocacy into tangible, impactful action for the nation's most important economic community.
AUG. 13, 2025 | This week, NSBA held its third quarterly issue committee meetings, uniting members to engage on critical policy matters impacting small business.
In the Environmental & Regulatory Affairs Committee, discussion centered on recent SBA leadership changes, highlighting William Briggs as Deputy Administrator and Casey Mulligan as Chief Counsel for the Office of Advocacy, alongside a review of clean energy tax incentives for small energy producers.
The Health & Human Resources Committee examined proposals to reduce health care costs and advance immigration reforms aimed at strengthening the labor supply, featuring contributions from Steven Girardeau and Dr. Michael Koslow.
Tax Committee members assessed the rollout of the OBBBA and voiced concerns over persistent difficulties in accessing IRS services.
Rounding out the sessions, the Economic Development Committee explored a broad array of priorities, from improving federal procurement processes to ensuring stronger protections for small-business farmers.
